Desert & Antiquities
Beyond the Nile Valley. The oracle temple where Alexander sought answers, and the city he built on the Mediterranean coast.

Your 10 Days
Ten days into the desert — and into the Egypt most travelers never find.
Cairo and Giza, then west across the Sahara to Siwa — the remote oasis where Alexander the Great once consulted an oracle before marching on to conquer the world. From there, north along the Mediterranean coast to Alexandria, the city he founded on the way. Two landscapes, one journey, and a story that goes far beyond the Nile.
-
Cairo · Giza
Private transfer from the airport to your hotel in Giza. Evening briefing with our team — what's ahead, what to expect, and your first look at the Pyramids on the horizon before the journey starts. -
Grand Egyptian Museum · Giza Plateau
A full day at the Grand Egyptian Museum with Mark — one of only five certified guides at the GEM — followed by the Giza Plateau itself. The Great Pyramid, the Sphinx, and 4,500 years of history that no photograph has ever done justice to. -
Cairo → Siwa
An early departure west. The city gives way to highway, the highway gives way to open desert, and by the time you arrive in Siwa the air, the light, and the pace of life have all changed completely. Egypt doesn't look like this anywhere else. -
Siwa
A visit to the Temple of the Oracle at Aghurmi — where Alexander the Great arrived in 331 BC seeking confirmation of his destiny. Afternoon at Cleopatra's Spring and a walk through Shali, Siwa's ancient mud-brick town slowly returning to the earth it was built from. -
Siwa
Morning at Gebel al-Mawta, the hillside cemetery where Siwan nobles were buried during the 26th Dynasty — tombs carved directly into the rock, most of them still unexcavated. Afternoon at Siwa's salt lakes, where the water is still enough to mirror the sky. -
Siwa
A free morning to move through Siwa without an agenda — its gardens, its springs, its silence. An oasis that has been inhabited for thousands of years and has never been in a hurry. Dinner with our team in the evening, Siwan style. -
Siwa → Marsa Matrouh
Departure from Siwa north through the desert toward the Mediterranean. The landscape shifts from sand to sea. Overnight in Marsa Matrouh — a quiet stop on a coastline most visitors to Egypt never reach. -
Marsa Matrouh → Alexandria
Morning drive east along the coast into Alexandria. The city appears gradually — minarets, then apartment blocks, then the sweep of the Corniche along the Mediterranean. Arrival and first afternoon to settle in and explore on your own terms. -
Alexandria
A full day in Alexandria: the Catacombs of Kom el-Shoqafa (a three-level necropolis where Greek, Roman, and Egyptian traditions merged underground), the Citadel of Qaitbay on the site of the ancient Lighthouse, and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina — a modern building on the site of one of the ancient world's greatest institutions. -
Alexandria → Cairo
Morning transfer back to Cairo for your international departure. The desert, the oracle, the sea — and a version of Egypt most people who visit never see.
